How to use it
  1. Apply a small amount directly to dark spots on clean, dry skin.
  2. Press gently into skin with fingertips, do not rub.
  3. Allow to absorb fully before applying moisturiser.
  4. Follow with the Dark Spot Face Cream to seal.
  5. Always use sunscreen during the day, as kojic acid may increase sensitivity to sunlight.

Use: Use once daily in the evening.

Kojic acid (1%) - inhibits tyrosinase, the enzyme responsible for melanin production. Works at the source to slow the formation of new dark spots and support a clearer, more even skin tone. EU-compliant at ≤1% per Regulation (EU) 2024/996.

Vitamin C - antioxidant active that works on existing discolouration through a separate pathway from kojic acid. Brightens the complexion and protects against the oxidative triggers; UV and pollution that cause dark spots to form.

Vitamin E - stabilises the vitamin C in the formula and supports the skin barrier's resilience. Makes the formula more effective and gentler simultaneously.

Sea buckthorn oil - rich in antioxidants and fatty acids; nourishes and supports barrier recovery between active correction sessions.

Rosemary extract - antioxidant support; protects the formula's stability and contributes to skin protection against environmental stressors.

Sodium PCA + betaine - moisture-binding actives that prevent the dryness or tightness sometimes associated with daily active use.

How long until I see results?

Visible results from kojic acid and vitamin C require 4–6 weeks of daily use. The skin renews in 21–28 day cycles. Pigmentation changes take at least one full renewal cycle to surface. Consistent daily use is essential; inconsistent use will not produce the same result. Begin with a committed 6-week ritual before assessing.
Does kojic acid work on all skin tones?

Yes. Kojic acid inhibits melanin production at the enzymatic level. This mechanism applies across all skin tones. Dark spots from sun damage, post-blemish marks, and hormonal pigmentation respond to kojic acid regardless of base skin tone.
Why does skin need to be dry before applying?

Damp skin reduces the absorption of water-soluble actives like vitamin C. Patting skin dry and waiting 30 seconds before application ensures the formula absorbs properly rather than sitting on the surface.
Can I use this with retinol or AHAs?

It is generally recommended to use kojic acid and vitamin C separately from retinol and strong AHAs to reduce the risk of irritation. Use this serum in the evening and retinol on alternating evenings. If you experience sensitivity, reduce frequency and allow skin to adjust.
Do I still need SPF?

Yes, this is non-negotiable. Kojic acid and vitamin C both increase photosensitivity. Without daily SPF, UV exposure will continue to trigger the melanin production the serum is working to interrupt. SPF is part of this ritual, not optional.
